These are what each page of the book is going to look like...I am unsure wether to leave the backgrounds white as i  dont want to overcomplicate things or take anything away from the illustrations yet does it look too simple and boring? Will this change when i have a pop ups! 

Getting the sets /scenes ready to print will be my hardest task yet...the artwork is the fun and easy bit! just what to print where which oarts need to be printed seperatly and then attatched back on the tabs and what needs to be sown under that piece..

- Heres and example what im trying to achieve.. The hen house will pull upwards to reveal the EGGS underneath I need to portray the eggs in a didnt form though possibly cracked open and fried just so it has more of an effect on the audience.

Not all the animals at a farm do we eat in the UK so i need to figure out what added etc do i need to put into these which kids may not know.

Concept: a farm animals book for kids with pop ups very innocent looking yet with a harsher learning outcome. under the pop ups will be the meats whihc we get from each animal or chicken and eggs etc. Fun book to learn about meat and poultry in the farming industry.


Considerations: Like Horrible histories books be careful of use of media isn't too gory meant to educational not frightening.


Deliverables: pop up book, jigsaw, games. Wall paper and bedding sets


An idea for the bedding is have the animals on the top sheet and the reverse side all the meats etc 


Wallpaper will be surface pattern of the illustrations

Illustrations for pop up book, i have began drawing out all the animals which are currently in major farms and out of childrens stories. I then need to make stages/sets from them all and began planning whihc sections are to pop up pulll out flip over etc.

I really like the style of these illustration as they as child like and appear to be collured in by felt tips, which bring me back to my childhood! The colours are bright and i am going to ensure it stays like that when printing.

Some of the animals I have replicated and drew them in different poses just to have more variety and some will fit better into different sets.

It was obviosuly important to keep the illustration style throughout the all the animals yet still some are my favourite like the pigs AWWW!!! so cute ha.

I tried to standerdise all of the drawings with the sroke i used around the outside and in the center the amount of black shading and also the stroke and opacity of the pen colour layers.

I am REALLY pleased with the outcome of the illustrations they all look good alone but how will they shape up once in a set together! 

Tractor!!! in love with my little tractor ha one thing i found with this illustration i coloured it in when it was still quite large when I have shrunk it down to fit onto the sets I have lost some of the stroke markings :( not to worry it will be applied to many different things.

Need more tools etc to bulk some of the sets out this wheel barrow does the trick! 

For my alternative learning brief i need to design something to go under the pop ups and pull outs these were some llustrations i started experimenting with but im reallu unsure i like the artwork its to childlike and not shocking enough for the reaction i want. The initial sets are meant to be like this yet im unsure i want inside to be like this also.

I dont know what i would like though i dont want photgraphs too much of a shift i may try black and white yet then would children be able to se what it is obviously enough

LOVE LOVE LOVE.....why didnt i come up with this idea or concept!! I deffinatly know what i will be doing when i finish my FMP designing an informaion book in this way its amazing i love it!! The other good thing i like is its illustrating usually boring stuff! and its given cintent! Lots of fun to be had here thats what im finding difficult about my brief i have no story do i need a story?! im really unsure maybe its better kept as it is vary vague its obvious what is is when you pull the pull outs. 

A part of me would just love to copy this idea! haha i may have to purchase this book im amazed!

The colour style and illustration is so like mine!! when ive designed something to this standard thats when ill be statisfied! 

Little parts like this i could actually include as it is a little more to the point and children may not know this is actually how it works!
