Evaluation.

Throughout my fmp I have learnt that time management is essential yet not only that you need to have your eye on the ball at every minute trying testing and never giving up. Graphic design has become the forefront to everything everyday life commitment is key I found this a little hard to put in 100 %  a 100% of the time I much prefer short deadlines I work most effective. Even by setting myself short deadlines I still like a definite one there to work towards. I gave myself a task at the start of the FMP as most visiting professionals and studios I have spoken to there design skills mainly lie within illustrator and that’s what program they use as I wasn’t too confident I wanted to try use it more so im not out of my depth if an opportunity comes up. I did it!! I feel very confident in my abilities now. The best thing I like about my FMP is the work ive produced is the best ive done in m y opinion! So im satisfied yet know its always the same with this industry never stop learning and never stop striving to be better. Most enjoyable part was being able to do my illustration in a lot more briefs and applying them graphically. I have won a design competition in leeds and are designing promotional material. I still need to work on my craft skills as im not yet satisfied with the level im at. I want to be seen as a graphic designer as well as an illustrator when I leave im inspired by illustration and like applying it to graphic products  yet enjoy layout. My previous module I explored foil blocking and print finished yet after refining myself I don’t think foil and finished would be too suiting to my illustrative style. When I leave I know what I want to experiment with and will feel more able to design quick turn around briefs without the restraints of blogger im excited to go and do more and improve my portfolio and general style. I have been using a Wacom tablet being an illustrator this seems basic stuff yet I always swore by hand drawing and then scanning yet after doing briefs with that they are so much easier and professional you can see your idea visually revealing in front of you. I need to see my work to print it to get o terms with how much ive done and how the artwork appears printed. One thing I would change is doing the Design context brief first, as this would have helped and inspired my practice a lot more.  I have realised though that illustrations take time! And energy much alteration and you design from nothing sometimes difficult to finalise everything therefore I like to work with some content or design direction to begin with.  All in all this past week ive realised how much ive learnt being at uni!
